PERSONAL BACKGROUND
I was born and raised in Shelbyville, Kentucky. After graduating from Shelby County High School in 1997, I attended nearby Georgetown College on sholarship. I graduated in2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, minoring in Business Administration and Communication Arts. That fall, I attended Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville on a Dean's Scholarship. I graduated with a Juris Doctorate and was admitted to the Kentucky Bar Association in 2004.
Previous Professional Experience
- 2002 - 2004: Law Clerk for the Jefferson County Commonwealth Attorney's Office in Louisville, Kentucky.
- 2004 - 2007: Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney, Narcotics Unit, Jefferson County Commonwealth Attorney's Office. Louisville, Kentucky.
- 2007-2009: First Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney, 53rd Judicial District of Kentucky (Spencer, Anderson, and Shelby counties). Main office located in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
- 2008-2009: Assistant County Attorney, Shelby County Attorney's Office. Shelbyville, Kentucky.
- 2004-Present: Adjunct Professor in legal studies programs at Midway College in Midway, Kentucky and Brown Mackie University in Louisville, Kentucky.
